MERA PEAK CLIMBING 6476M
MERA PEAK CLIMB TRIP OVERVIEW
Mera Peak Climbing is an inspiring Himalayan adventure that combines a remote trekking journey with the unforgettable experience of standing on one of Nepal’s most celebrated trekking summits. Rising to an altitude of 6,476 metres, Mera Peak offers climbers a remarkable introduction to high-altitude mountaineering while revealing some of the finest mountain scenery in the Everest and Makalu regions.
Carefully designed by Himalayan Sherpa Exodus Team this 20-day expedition follows a gradual and scenic approach from Kathmandu to Phaplu before entering the quieter trails of the lower Solukhumbu region. The journey continues through traditional settlements such as Nunthala, Kharikhola, Panggom and Ningsow, gradually leaving cultivated valleys behind for pristine forests, alpine landscapes and the remote wilderness surrounding the Hinku Valley.
The route provides a valuable opportunity to experience a less-travelled side of the Himalayas. As the trail progresses through Chhatra Khola, Kothe and Thaknak towards Khare, the surrounding landscape becomes increasingly dramatic. High mountain walls, glacial valleys and snow-covered summits create an impressive setting while the carefully planned acclimatisation schedule allows climbers to adjust progressively to the increasing altitude.
At Khare, a dedicated pre-climb training day helps participants become familiar with essential mountaineering techniques and equipment before moving towards Mera High Camp at 5,780 metres. Under the guidance of our experienced climbing team, climbers prepare for the early-morning summit attempt with safety, teamwork and proper acclimatisation as the highest priorities.
Reaching the 6,476-metre summit of Mera Peak is the defining moment of the expedition. On a clear day, the summit rewards climbers with an extraordinary Himalayan panorama that includes several of the world’s highest mountains, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Kangchenjunga, together with countless surrounding Himalayan peaks. Few trekking peaks in Nepal provide such an extensive high-altitude viewpoint.
After completing the summit climb, the journey returns through the Hinku Valley before crossing the impressive Zatrwa La Pass at approximately 4,600 metres towards Lukla. This final mountain crossing gives the expedition another memorable Himalayan experience before the return flight to Kathmandu.
With professional organisation, experienced Sherpa guidance and a thoughtfully paced itinerary, Himalayan Sherpa Exodus Team aims to provide a safe, genuine and rewarding Mera Peak climbing experience. From remote mountain villages and peaceful valleys to glacier terrain and the exhilaration of reaching a Himalayan summit, this expedition is created for adventurers who want more than simply climbing a mountain—it is a complete journey into the heart of Nepal’s high Himalayas.
